THE BIO STUFF: Born in 1979 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Spent most of my life in Lancaster County, Pa. Married since 2009. Helped add three tiny-but-growing human beings to the population. Considered the co-CEO of the family — my wife is chief executive officer and I’m chief entertainment officer. Diehard and increasingly impatient Cincinnati Reds fan.
WORKING FOR A LIVING: I write, I photograph, sometimes for fun, sometimes for monetary compensation. I’m also a public relations, strategic messaging, crisis communications expert, which comes in handy when trying to convince the kids they’ve had enough video games for one day.
THINGS I COLLECT: Vinyl records, memoir books, digital movies, movie posters and memorabilia.

SEMI-TRUE AND NOT-SO-TRUE STORIES I’VE TOLD MY CHILDREN: I had to mine and shovel our own coal to heat my childhood house; I won the 2004 Olympic can opener gold medal, and the reason there’s no video is because back then not every event was televised; I road a hay wagon to elementary school and sometimes we’d be late because the horse would get tired and take a nap on the side of the road.
